The Myth of Competition
There are only two Universal Laws:
1. Free Will
2. Like Attracts Like
Stefan Tsirikos
It’s interesting to note that society has conditioned us to think in terms of what we don’t have instead of what we do. It’s the idea that there is a limited supply and if we don’t demand and hold on to our share, someone else will. That level of thinking has contributed to everything from war to poverty.
This is not to say that we can’t enjoy ‘healthy‘ competition. But really the only healthy competition is when YOU compete with YOU. Honestly, every other type of competition is ‘Apples to Oranges‘. Think about it…
You are the ONLY you there is.
- You are unique.
- Your choices and mission are unique.
- Your likes and dislikes are unique.
- Your contributions are unique.
You can certainly use a positive role model to point you in the right direction, but the ultimate goal is to exercise your Free Will and move toward what Attracts You as You Attract it.
There’s a great story about legendary coach Dean Smith. When asked how he scouted other teams he simply stated, “I don’t. I focus on making my players the best they can be and developing the greatest team possible. Inside of that, everything else takes care of itself.“ Now for a guy who has the 9th highest winning percentage of all time in NCAA Basketball that’s a BIG statement.
Focus on your strengths, eliminate your weaknesses, master the fundamentals…sounds like a good plan.
So how do we ‘thrive’ in what many people feel is a ‘highly competitive marketplace’ without competition. Well, Liz Lynch has a fantastic solution.
Building upon the Universal Laws, Liz has created a special opportunity for Like Minded business owners (like yours truly) to share what we’ve been given and build a network of people determined to succeed by helping others.
“Help enough people to get what THEY want and you will get what YOU want.“
