Universal Laws Part 1

You Can’t Break the Laws of the Universe…  You can only Break Yourself Against Them.

I don’t consider myself a guru, or any kind of leader in things spiritual, but you don’t need to be Mahatma Gandhi to realize that there are some things in place that pretty much govern the way the world works.  Work in harmony with those things and life’s a bowl of cherries.  Ignore them and life’s the pits…  Pardon the pun.

The first one I’m going to talk about is the Law of Cause and Effect.

To explain the law of cause and effect that’s go to the visual of the smoking gun and a corpse.  A little CSI action for a late-night blog post.  If you’re like the millions of other folks who tune in and of the show often starts with a body and a back up to how it got there.  Generally it backtracks you to that lovely smoking gun and courtesy of some flashy special effects and a leap of faith we get to the person whose finger was on the trigger.

In this case the corpse is you (morbid huh…) and the smoking gun is whatever got you here.  The major key to keep in point is that the finger on the trigger is yours.  Yeah you hotshot.  Hopefully you figured out that blaming other people for your circumstances is the fastest route to staying exactly where you are.  If you want to have a hope in changing your ultimate destination you need to start by getting your hands on the wheel.  So suck it up, you may not like it but you’re exactly where you’ve planned to be.

You see everything you’ve ever done has added up to get you exactly where you are.  Most people have no plan which is pretty much why they feel lost most of the time.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Chances are you’ve heard that question before, but have you ever taken the time to answer? I mean seriously?  Most people move through life as wandering generalities.  And never really have a clear idea of who they are, what their message is, or where they’re committed to going.  And so they get exactly what they pay for, one big fuzzy nowhere.

Want a free tip that’ll open your eyes?

Read a copy of Ben Franklin’s Autobiography It’s probably the most brilliant autobiography ever written, by one of the most incredible people to ever write a book.  Talk about a guy who knew who he was, knew where he was going, and had a plan to get there…  He was the colonial poster boy :-)

His life was cause and effect in action.  I swear if that man had lived to be 250 he would’ve invented the plasma TV and the cell phone!  Which is exactly my point.  These days the ‘common man’s‘ most common inventions are excuses for why they can’t do something.  Don’t let that be you.  Real results require real work.  Make sure you’re referring to your 3 P’s…and if they can’t motivate you to get your ass off the couch… keep rewriting them until they can.  The best time to start creating championship habits is today…and since I’m a quote happy SOB today, I’ll leave you with this:

Watch your thoughts, they become words.  Watch your words, they become actions.  Watch your actions, they become habits.  Wash your habits, they become character.  Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

Don’t go Breakin’…
